Mission Statement

animal welfare organization that supports the responsible use of working, sport
and pleasure horses. Our goals are to prevent the neglect or abuse of any
equine, to offer equine educational programs to the community and to provide
shelter and rehabilitation for those equines in need."

BASIC
TERMS OF ADOPTION and APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
- This
horse cannot be raced or used as a polo pony. New Beginnings Equine
Placement, Inc. (NBEP) may repossess said horse without notice if used for
either of the aforementioned.
- This
horse may need additional training for discipline or riding that Adoptive
Owner may be interested in pursuing.
- It
is agreed that this horse will never be sent to a slaughter
facility. If the horse has to be euthanized, it must be done in a humane
way by lethal injection administered by a licensed veterinarian. NBEP must
be notified before, if possible, or immediately after the process. Proof
of death must be provided, such as a veterinarian’s invoice or written
statement from a veterinarian.
- Horse
should be de-wormed every 6-8 weeks. Horse should also be vaccinated for
rhino, flu, EWE, rabies, strangles & tetanus each year.
- There is to be no transfer of ownership of this adopted horse. If not satisfied with, unable to afford or
properly care for adopted horse, Adoptive Owner must RETURN HORSE TO NBEP.
- If
the horse is returned to NBEP, the horse MUST be returned in the same or
better condition as when adopted or the adoptive owner is responsible for
any veterinary costs associated with the horse’s ailment(s). Ailments can
be, but are not limited to: cuts and abrasions, respiratory illnesses or
other ailments received while in the possession of adoptive owner. The
adoptive owner is also responsible for transportation and costs associated
with transport of the adopted horse to NBEP.
- NBEP
requests the right to visit said horse after giving reasonable notice,
such as a 24 hour notice, to adoptive owner. Please note that if the horse
is found to be either in poor condition, such as extremely thin with
prominence of ribs, covered with visible open or healing wounds or other
visible signs of poor care or mistreatment, or living in a squalid
environment such as a stall clearly packed with feces or in a paddock
clearly inundated in manure or water, NBEP retains the right to repossess
the horse without notice.
- The
above Basic Terms of Adoption are highlights
of the terms of the Adoption Agreement and are in no way meant to be the
Adoption Agreement terms in its entirety.

Please

Please
make note of the following:
- Changes in housing and
routine may produce changes in the behavior of the horse, therefore
additional training for both riding and ground manners may be necessary.
Training or consultations by an equine professional is recommended to ease
transition stress for both the new owner and horse.
- NBEP makes no guarantees in writing or verbally on the
soundness of any animal available for adoption. NBEP will gladly honor the
Adoptive Owner’s request for a pre-purchase veterinary examination, the
invoice to be paid by the Adoptive Owner.
- Horses are unpredictable
animals. Consequently, NBEP is not responsible for any damages to persons
or property once the horse is adopted.
- Once a donation is
received, there is no refund of that
donation under any circumstances.
